Councillors are recommended to agree a £750 per year deal which would see the Barlia sports complex leased out for 25 years.

A council-owned football complex in Castlemilk is set to be leased to a community trust for 25 years.

It has also run football camps for local children during school holidays and allows them to use the pitches when not in use by teams. Barlia, which opened in 1992 and is owned by the council, is currently leased to the council’s arms-length organisation Glasgow Life, which runs culture and leisure venues in the city. A sub-lease to the trust would be required up to March 31, 2032.
