With Virgin Australia Business Flyer, small to medium-sized businesses can enjoy the perks usually reserved for giant corporationsVelocity Frequent Flyer CEO Nick Rohrlach grew up in a small business owner household, and he remembers the perks well. “When I was a kid, my dad used his frequent flyer Points to book our holidays,” Rohrlach says.As Rohrlach sees it, there are two types of double dipping: the good and the bad. The bad type, he says, is the kind that involves “chips and salsa”.
First and foremost, the program saves SMEs money. Program members enjoy a discount of up to 6% on their eligible domestic flights and up to 10% off eligible international flights.* This is incremental to the great value fares which Virgin Australia provides. The program is free to join. Terms and conditions apply but there are no ongoing membership fees or minimum spend – you just need an ABN.
Program members who spend and fly on $2,000 worth of eligible flights in the first three months of joining will receive two, three-month Velocity Gold memberships. Tier 2 members are automatically allocated one complimentary Velocity Gold membership for 12 months, with Tier 3 members receiving two*. An Australian-owned company that operates a fleet of more than 45 helicopters used for critical jobs such as search and rescue and aerial firefighting, McDermott loves the program’s ease of use. “Being able to make and manage our bookings through the portal is a massive time saver,” says Paige Henwood, a support officer with McDermott Aviation.
