Grand National tips for the big 2024 race as selection of tipsters pick their winner for the world's most famous steeplechase
The four miles, two-and-a-half furlong steeplechase is known as the People's Race, with millions of national and international fans tuning in to witness the event. This year, there are 34 horses going head-to-head in Britain's most iconic race.
"Gavin Cromwell’s nine-year-old grey flew – under jockey and registered pilot Sean Flanagan – late and fast on the run-in at Aintree last year. But Lucinda Russell’s Corach Rambler has already taken the race by the scruff of the neck and landed a two-and-a-quarter-length success to provide his trainer and jockey Derek Fox with a second Grand National victory.
Writing in the Racing Post, Austen said: "Falling when in a clear lead at the Cheltenham Festival could be a career-defining moment for many horses but MAHLER MISSION can sweep that disappointment aside by winning the Grand National. "Noble Yeats has been first and a never-nearer fourth in the last two Grand Nationals, and there are reasons to believe that Roi Mage can build on his bold show in last year's race. I Am Maximus would present a highly persuasive case were it not for having so many fences to jump, while Adamantly Chosen is another interesting Mullins runner. In conclusion, the vote goes to Mahler Mission ahead of Vanillier, Roi Mage and Mr Incredible.
