Harris County leaders vow vigilance amid plan to dispose waste water from hazardous train derailment in Deer Park

Harris County leaders late Wednesday rushed to assure residents that they would monitor potentially hazardous waste water from the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment fire that is expected to be disposed of in Deer Park.

“While there are assurances being made that transporting the wastewater poses minimal danger to people, my office will closely monitor the situation to make sure people aren’t put in any risk,” he said.late Wednesday that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality confirmed that Texas Molecular would store and dispose of the waste water.
