Two major highways in the NSW Blue Mountains have been closed as freezing temperatures turned overnight snow into hazardous black ice, forcing motorists to wait in their cars for it to melt.
The Great Western Highway between Katoomba and Mount Victoria and the Bells Line of Road between Bell and Lithgow were closed off during the early hours of Wednesday morning, with authorities warning drivers to wait for the ice to melt.
