Volunteer Helen Sullivan, 46, said she was feeling "pretty excited" about participating in the trial.
Ms Sullivan said she decided to participate to help "get the world back to normal and people back to work". Researchers hope is testing will bump up to about 1000 volunteers if successful to further check and test the drug's efficacy.
