Inquiry proposed into council that won't let 'naughty' councillor return l jakesaulwick
The re-elected Member for Parramatta Geoff Lee has called for an investigation into his local council which continues to exclude an ally of the politician from meetings.
The comments follow a tumultuous few months for the council, which is presiding over an area ear-marked for billions in investment by the state government.The council had been in a stand-off with the government over funding for a replacement Parramatta pool. And last month councillors sacked the council’s former chief executive Mark Stapleton.
“I’ve been thrown out on three occasions previously, this is number four,” Cr Barrak said at the start of a council meeting on Monday, March 11.Liberal councillor Ben Barrak. The council last year submitted a planning proposal to the Department of Planning, which was returned to the council with numerous amendments.
