Health Minister Greg Hunt has lashed calls for the Covid-19 booster shot wait time to be reduced, labelling politicians as reckless and irresponsible for advocating for a shorter third dose booster interval. auspol

On Thursday, opposition leader Anthony Albanese called for Australia to “learn some lessons” from other countries struggling with the Omicron variant and reduce the wait time for the booster shot from five months to four.But Mr Hunt slammed the Labor leader for his comments, insisting Mr Albanese was politicising ATAGIs health advice and was therefore “unworthy” of being Prime Minister.

“The Labor leader is doing precisely the very thing that Josh Burns says shouldn‘t happen – that’s politicians interfering with the medical process,” he said. “You have one person in Labor saying – don't interfere with ATAGI – and then you have the leader trying to do precisely the opposite.More to come
