As a full lockdown looms over Tasmania's north-west, residents find ways to cope.
Down the street, Karen Duff runs a gift shop, but the pandemic has but a dampener on her business.
"But it's still fulfilling a need because everything else shut down and people still have birthdays … people are passing away and it's just a very unusual time."Located next door is the local pharmacy where customers trickle in and out the door to peruse the neighbouring gift shop while waiting for scripts to be filled.
"It's starting to hit home now, especially with the health care workers getting sick, so people just need to do the right thing."The investigation into the COVID-19 cases linked to the North West Regional Hospital and the North West Private Hospital is ongoing, with 26 of the state's 111 cases linked to the hospitals.
