It is one of the great truisms of life that whenever there is a big pot of government money, rorting or fraud or theft will follow, Sky News host Chris Kenny says.

“That’s one reason government should always be small as possible, and that’s why it was always clear that the National Disability Insurance Scheme would be rorted in some way,” Mr Kenny said.

“According to the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, organised crime and other criminals could be stealing up to 20 per cent of the funds – that’s $6 billion a year, syphoned from you to the criminals. “Investigators believe serious criminal gangs and organised crime have gone to elaborate lengths to bleed money out of the NDIS, that’s on top of any opportunistic small-scale rorting.”

Mr Kenny said then prime minister Mr Turnbull once aligned in 2017 with then deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce and Tony Abbott in creating a 'scare campaign' on the Voice – calling it a third chamber of parliament. 'Well those days are done – because writing in The Guardian, wouldn't you know it, Turnbull has flipped,' Mr Kenny said. 'He now says that the Voice is not a third chamber and he supports it. 'It is nice that he has come to his senses on this but wow didn't he blow an opportunity back in 2017.'

Liberals’ push for ‘progressive environment policy’ either ‘insures or confuses’Liberals’ push for ‘progressive environment policy’ either ‘insures or confuses’Former Labor MP Michael Danby says it’s clear the NSW and Victorian Liberals are trying to adopt a more “progressive environment policy” to insure themselves against a repeat of the 'teals phenomena' seen in the federal election. “But I’m not sure whether it insures or confuses, and that’s the key point,” Mr Danby told Sky News host Chris Smith. “And what do we do – all of us, both sides of politics – when electricity prices go up, a hundred per cent, 200 per cent, including for manufacturing, as we adopt more expensive renewables?”

‘Loneliest man in the world’: Xi Jinping the ‘judge, jury and executioner’‘Loneliest man in the world’: Xi Jinping the ‘judge, jury and executioner’The Centre for Independent Studies’ Salvatore Babones says Chinese President Xi Jinping is the “loneliest man in the world” because he has “no natural friends”. “Xi Jinping has three jobs: he’s the chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, he’s the president of China and he’s the chairman of the Central Military Commission of China,” Mr Babones told Sky News host Chris Smith. He said this makes him “judge, jury and executioner of the entire Chinese system”. “You don’t have a lot of friends when you’re putting all your friends in jail, you are lording it over them, you’re dividing them amongst themselves, amongst each other, and your approach to governance is to divide and rule.”
