A man died and a 60-year-old woman was injured after a jetski crashed into mangroves on the Barron River north of Cairns, Queensland. The incident occurred around 10am local time on Friday. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

The woman was taken to Cairns hospital in a stable condition with shoulder and chest injuries, according to a spokesperson for the Queensland Ambulance Service.
