MORNING BRIEFING: Firefighters are left unable to tackle raging blazes on the Central Coast after equipment is stolen overnight, while Troy Grant's father is arrested over a fatal hit and run last month.
NSW Police are making a global appeal to locate a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for historical child sex offences.
Simon Gordon Davies, 63, is wanted on 18 child sexual and indecent assault offences, which police say all took place in Sydney between 1981 and 1987.He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170 centimetres tall, of solid build, and bald.
Australian Tourism and Transport Forum chief executive Margy Osmond said it was important for people planning to travel during holiday period to get the right information about fires within that region before they made any decisions to cancel. "It is the busiest time of the year for a lot of our regional communities … don't assume the place you were going to [go] is going to be a problem," she said.
"Even with the windows closed, the difference in air quality could be ... at most 10 to 25 per cent less concentrated."
