Two Spanish tourists lost while hiking in Cape Hillsborough National Park, north of Mackay, Queensland, were located and rescued during a search and rescue operation. Their welfare was a concern due to the rough terrain and weather conditions.
Two tourists who became lost while hiking in north Queensland have been found during a search and rescue mission.
The man and woman, from Spain, called emergency services about 9am on Sunday from Cape Hillsborough National Park, north of Mackay, where they were bushwalking.Police said there were grave concerns for the tourists' welfare due to the rugged terrain and unfavourable weather conditions."Our crew had eyes on them and notified emergency services on the ground of their location," a CQ Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said.
The Queensland Ambulance Service says both of the tourists are well and were treated on scene by paramedics.Photo shows A couple smiles.
