A 25-year-old man has had his car impounded and is facing court after recording a staggeringly high blood alcohol rating on Sunday morning. South Australia n Police intercepted the alleged drink driver in Gilberton on Sunday morning after receiving multiple calls about a vehicle that was “swerving and driving erratically along North East Road Hillcrest, heading towards the city.”
“The driver, a 25-year-old Parafield Gardens man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.291 - nearly six times the legal limit,” Police said in a statement. According to SA Health, a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15 to 0.30 puts the person at “high risk” with effects likely to include “inadequate breathing, unable to walk without assistance, loss of bladder control, and possibly loss of consciousness.”
