The Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says the introduction of a pride jersey by NRL team the Manly Sea Eagles has divided players and fans.
“You’d think that this whole project was about achieving harmony – it’s done exactly the opposite,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“My strong advice to them is go back and think about what your business is about and it is about entertainment, fun, great examples of sportsmanship to inspire young people. It is not about driving political causes like this.”
