Manly Sea Eagles has confirmed all seven stars who pulled out from selection for this week's game against the Roosters will not play this week as the coach blamed the club for the 'confusion' and 'pain' it caused the players and LGBTQI community.
Jason Saab, Josh Aloiai, Christian Tuipulotu, Josh Schuster, Haumole Olakau'atu, Tolutau Koula and Toafofoa Sipley are believed to be the athletes who will not line up against the Sydney Roosters in a crucial match ahead of the finals.
Coach Des Hasler revealed on Tuesday he has accepted the decision from all seven players to not compete against the Roosters in the first game of Round 20. Hasler repeatedly apologised throughout the 20-minute address to the media and pointed the finger to management for failing to consult players about the uniform.
He then issued an apology for the"mistakes we made" and to the minority groups in the community who embrace the rainbow colours. Cherry-Evans stressed the importance of"celebrating inclusiveness" and diversity for the round which will commemorate women in league.
