Matildas longest-serving player Lydia Williams has announced she will retire from international football after the 2024 Paris Olympics .The Matildas will face the US, Germany and Zambia in the group stages of the Paris Games in July.
The 35-year-old Melbourne Victory shot stopper, who has played at five World Cups and was part of the 2010 Asian Cup title triumph, made her announcement on social media on Thursday night."It's been a wonderful ride over the last 19 years," said Williams, who has played club football overseas in the US, Sweden, England and France.
It will be Australia's fifth appearance in the women's Olympic football tournament, with their best-ever finish of fourth coming in Tokyo.
