Health Minister Mark Butler has announced more than seven million Australians will be able to get their fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose after the eligibility criteria was expanded.
Mr Butler said the eligibility criteria for the additional jab is being widened"dramatically" from Monday, July 11, to include an extra 7.4 million residents.
"ATAGI has also recommended that for Australians between 30 and 49, who feel that they want to take a fourth dose, that will be available to them, but will be an individual decision, it is not a specific recommendation of ATAGI." The Health Minister said the changes will reduce severe disease and relieve pressure on the hospital system.
