Greens Senator David Shoebridge says Scott Morrison’s secret portfolios were a “planned and directed attack” on some of the fundamental underpinnings of responsible government.
“Some people would like to see this as just a passing scandal but what it has shown is a core weakness at the heart of our democracy,” he said.
“A weakness where conventions that have been established, in this case for century, are able to be put aside by a power-hungry prime minister who want to centralise powers in his or her hands.
