Seven Manly players have withdrawn from Thursday’s game against the Sydney Roosters, over the club’s decision to make the players wear a LGBTQ jersey to 'celebrate inclusiveness' in rugby league.

Pic: Manly Digital "But like I said I think it is a good initiative and it puts 17 people out there who will do many people proud and make those feeling vulnerable a bit more welcome in society."
“I would love, given the opportunity, to be able to sit around a table with those guys and just have a conversation with them,” he said. Roberts said he wanted to see a pride round in the NRL to help “make people feel welcome” rather than make players and fans feel isolated.
