Former speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop says Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is “finished for me” following the death of one of a NSW mother’s unborn twin babies. Anger was sparked after a mother from the New South Wales North Coast lost her unborn child after seeking medical treatment in Sydney as she was worried it would take too long for a border exemption into Queensland.

Her family waited 16 hours for a flight to Sydney and another six to seven hours for emergency surgery, only to find out scans revealed one of her twins had died. Ms Palaszczuk recently said, “people living in New South Wales they have New South Wales hospitals, in Queensland we have Queensland hospitals for our peoples”. “This finishes Palaszczuk for me forever,” Ms Bishop told Sky News host Gary Hardgrave. “I just think it is absolutely disgusting.

Australia must fight back against foreign governments influencing our policy: PM | Sky News AustraliaAustralia must fight back against foreign governments influencing our policy: PM | Sky News AustraliaPrime Minister Scott Morrison has declared Australia must protect itself from foreign governments seeking to undermine foreign policy through deals with state governments.\n\nMr Morrison today announced foreign influence reforms which will give him the power to knock back bad deals by state governments which threaten Australia’s sovereignty.\n\n“Where any foreign government seeks to undermine the sovereignty of Australia's foreign policy by seeking to do deals with subnational governments, Australia needs to protect itself from that,” he said.\n\n“And importantly, that's why, probably, I'd argue, more than anyone previously - although I know there were briefings provided - but not at this level of detail - I appeal for all premiers and chief ministers to know what I know about Australia's national security issues and interests. \n\n“That was a useful briefing we held some weeks ago and I think what we've announced today is therefore not unsurprising or unexpected on their part and I particularly welcome the comments by the South Australian Premier today. We need to all work together to protect Australia's national interests and I think this bill, these laws, will aid us in doing that.”\n

Australia ‘wasn’t built to have borders’: Prime Minister Morrison | Sky News AustraliaAustralia ‘wasn’t built to have borders’: Prime Minister Morrison | Sky News AustraliaEXCLUSIVE: Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he believes the state border closure between New South Wales and Victoria will be lifted “in a heartbeat” because Australians are currently suffering with it in place. \n\n“The thing is this; if you put a border in, if you put any restriction in, it’s going to cost, it’s going to hurt, there’s going to be an impact,” Mr Morrison told Sky News host Paul Murray during an exclusive interview. \n\n“Australia wasn’t built to have borders, in fact that was sort of the point, not to have them”. \n\nMr Morrison revealed that neither himself, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews or New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian were “particularly keen” on a border being in place between the two states. \n\n“But it needed to happen … it did necessitate it, regrettably,” he said. \n\n“The minute we believe that that risk of the transfer is at a level, that it is no longer necessary, I believe both premiers and I will move in a heartbeat to get rid of it”. \n\nThe Prime Minister also pointed to the example being demonstrated in New South Wales as a state which is showing the way in responding to the virus. \n\n“New South Wales has demonstrated you can deal with the virus coming, and hitting you, and keep everything open”. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia
