Dawson’s Charles Anderson puts up a shot past Atascocita’s Frankliin Onyeme Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 at Pasadena ISD Phillips Field House.PASADENA — It wasn’t by design that Jaden Miller guided Dawson to a difficult 63-47 win over Atascocita Friday night in a Class 6A area playoff game, it just worked out in that fashion at Phillips Fieldhouse.
Miller, a 6-1 senior guard, canned a 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter, and teammates Larry Lyons and Keshawn Cotton buried treys to start the fourth to provide Dawson with a surge of momentum. After Atascocita 6-5 senior forward Franklin Onyeme scored to make it 44-38 with 7:20 left in the final period, the Eagles didn’t score from the field the remainder of the game.
