James Wong, 34, a pilot, died in a seaplane crash off the Perth coast along with two foreign tourists. Wong's partner, Angela Cloeraine, launched an online fundraiser to support his grieving family, highlighting his passion for seaplanes and adventurous spirit.

The partner of a pilot killed in Tuesday’s seaplane crash off the Perth coast has paid tribute to his love of adventure and passion for his craft. James Wong, 34, and two foreign tourists — a 65-year-old Swiss woman and a 60-year-old Danish man, who were both on holiday with their respective partners — died when the Cessna 208 Caravan plunged nose-first into the water near Thomson Bay at Rottnest Island about 4pm.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of James, a talented and dedicated pilot who was an integral and deeply cherished member of our team,” Swan River Seaplanes’ director Kristy Bailey said. “Our hearts and thoughts are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.” WA Premier Roger Cook said there had been no advice that Swan River Seaplanes should suspend operations until authorities conclude their investigations.
