An outback town is in lockdown as police chase a wanted and armed man through remote South Australia.

Around 3:45pm, police spotted the ute driving north along RM Williams Way, near Craddock, before it turned right onto Flinders Ranges Way.The police helicopter then followed it from the air as it travelled towards Leigh Creek, before it travelled on dirt roads and through scrubland at Warraweena Station.
Property owners in the area are asked to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity by calling the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or, if it is an emergency, triple-0.
