Queensland Opposition Leader DebFrecklington says it is “nonsensical” that Queensland Premier AnnastaciaMP has allowed upwards of 30,000 to protest together amid coronavirus lockdowns.

Queensland Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington says it is “nonsensical” that Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has allowed upwards of 30,000 to protest together amid coronavirus lockdowns. Thousands of people attended a Black Lives Matter protest held in Brisbane on the weekend to stand in solidarity with protest held across the United States, despite the state still operating under strict restrictions.

Ms Frecklington told Sky News that Queensland residents have made “substantial sacrifices to do what we’ve been asked to do by the Palaszczuk government”. “There are ways that we can certainly look out for worthy causes but what this has done to have 30,000 people in the centre of Brisbane with the Palaszczuk government doing effectively nothing to stop it has really set us back here in Queenslandd,” she said.
