An inquiry into Queensland police’s response to domestic violence will be extended as several officers came forward after Commissioner Katarina Carroll’s testimony on Thursday.
The Independent Commission of Inquiry into the Queensland Police Service has been running for five weeks across the state, ending last week with Carroll grilled over damaging evidence of sexism, misogyny and racism. The inquiry on Monday morning released a statement saying the commission had been “contacted by a number of members of the QPS about those issues” after Carroll’s evidence. Carroll, whose testimony ran all day, was questioned over lewd comments made at two conferences earlier this year with high-ranking members of the QPS.Superintendent Ray Rohweder, who yelled“In light of these matters the Commission of Inquiry is calling for further submissions from people who have knowledge of the cultural issues within the QPS,” the statement read.
