Sky News host Chris Smith says the walls of the hotel quarantine debacle are “closing in” on Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews after leaked emails show the extent to which the government knew of the sub-par health protocols at the facilities.

Mr Smith pointed to leaked emails which show how the government knew about the protocols associated with the Melbourne hotels from the first week of the program. “Chairman Dan is still batting away questions about his failed quarantine system, which, according to his chief medical officer, may be responsible for every hotspot in the country,” he said. “The walls on this quarantine debacle are closing in on him.
