Queensland health authorities are scrambling after an unlinked local case was recorded in a woman in her 20s who visited multiple venues across the state whilst infectious.
"But this incident and the risk here underlines just how important the restrictions that we currently have in place are," the Deputy Premier said at the Tuesday press conference.
Queensland health authorities understand she was in the community while infectious between July 15 and 17. Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young detailed the young woman's movement and the venues of particular concern for Queenslanders. According to Dr Young, the woman travelled from Melbourne to Maroochydore on July 13 and was alerted by health authorities on July 15 to get tested because she had attended the Young and Jacksons hotel in the days before - which Victoria declared a tier one site.

One new local case of the coronavirus has been recorded in Queensland in a woman who travelled to the Sunshine Coast after visiting a tier one exposure site in Melbourne on July 10.
