Chief Health Officer Dr John Gerrard has warned Queensland could soon see thousands of cases each day which would place an increasing “strain” on the state’s health system.

“We’re not going to stop it. We’re going to just try and slow it down a little bit to enable people to get those third doses.” This occurred after the Queensland border opened up on December 13 to vaccinated interstate and overseas travellers.
