Fresh whistleblower evidence has claimed police botched and “obstructed” the investigation into Labor’s red shirt scandal - in a bid to help Daniel Andrews win the 2018 election - calling the Ombudsman's July verdict into question.
The allegations, made by a whistleblower in a statement addressed to the Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission , suggest that senior police interfered and obstructed the inquiry.
The whistleblower's statement reported by the Herald Sun claims the investigation “obstructed and prevented” officers from doing their job. The whistleblower statement follows revelations aired in February and earlier in November referring the matter to police before it ultimately landed with the Ombudsman.
