A 58-year-old pizza shop owner in Kingswood, Sydney, was fatally stabbed on Tuesday night, leading to the arrest of seven teenagers. Police are investigating the motive behind the attack and are examining CCTV footage.

Emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway, near Kingswood Train Station, about 10.20pm on Tuesday.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man before he was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he died. Detective Superintendent Trent King confirmed the man was the owner of the pizza shop where the stabbing took place. 'This was a gentleman running his business within the local area and certainly didn't deserve what occurred overnight,' he said. 'There are a number of lines of inquiry … we are exploring why people were in the vicinity at the time and what that interaction with the deceased was.'A crime scene was established on Tuesday night, with Superintendent King saying the injury the man sustained was 'gruesome'. 'It was certainly a confronting scene for emergency responders. Unfortunately the wound was a fatal wound from the moment it occurred.'Following inquiries, six people — two girls, aged 13 and 16, three boys, two aged 15 and one aged 17, and a 19-year-old man — were arrested at homes in Werrington, South Penrith and Penrith. They were taken to Penrith and St Marys police stations. About 1.10pm, a 15-year-old boy was then arrested at St Marys Police Station, before being taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.'At this stage it's very early in the investigation. They are people of interest that we are speaking to in relation to the matter,' Superintendent King said. Detectives from Nepean Police Area Command commenced an investigation with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad. Superintendent King said police were looking into CCTV and dashcam footage in the local area around the time of the stabbing.
