Australian Ambassador to the United States Kevin Rudd is under fire after spending tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on a pride party in Washington, DC.
Australia's US Ambassador Kevin Rudd has come under fire for spending an eye-watering amount of taxpayer money on a lavish “pride party” in Washington, which included a prominent drag queen entertainer.
Among the hefty costs were two drag queens who were hired to perform, including popular Australian entertainer DJ Kitty Glitter, who has risen to fame globally and tours around the world. Catering, which was the biggest expense, was just over $11,000 and included costs for three chefs and eight waiters.
“Such a thrill to be invited to be a part of the Embassy of Australia’s Pride function at the Hon’ Dr Kevin Rudd’s Ambassador’s Residence in Washington D.C. last night,” she wrote on June 3 last year. Kitty Glitter has revealed she has been invited back for a similar event this year.
