Former adviser to Tony Blair, John McTernan says a significant voter turnout could imply people see this as "another chance" to vote on the "big issue of remain versus leave".
"The referendum had the biggest turnout in British electoral history, the last election felt like a second run at it; this is the third run at it," Mr McTernan said. "Whatever the exit poll comes out at, the devil will be in the detail."
