Six men have been arrested after $50 million worth of cocaine was found concealed inside an industrial generator as part of an alleged transnational drug importation plot. 9News
An airfreight consignment from the UK to Sydney was found to contain 125 kilograms of cocaine concealed in a box in the base of an industrial generator last Friday.The police operation on the M7 to arrest three men over the alleged drug bust.A police chase was initiated when a van and a truck drove off along the M7.
The driver and passenger of the truck, two men aged 29 and 32, and the driver of the van, a 29-year-old man, were arrested.The driver of the truck allegedly tried to ram police cars during the incident. Detective Superintendent Rob Critchlow said the three men arrested in Sydney were not "well known" to police and weren't members of any major organised crime gangs."These fellows seem to be involved in various industries and have certain skills," he said.
However, the three men in the UK "appear to be connected to quite high-level criminals in that part of the world".
