I think it ended on a better note. We’re looking at more definitive steps towards living with COVID and that is probably better than a year ago, I have to say.

A sense of wonder that is hard to recapture as an adult in the harsh light of reality.
The worst Christmas would be as a kid in the year I realised it may be the last time that one of my grandparents would be at Christmas, and my sense that mortality was real.The thousands of tourism operators across the state who have battled on through the most challenging times possible. If it wasn’t COVID, it was the lack of visitors, it was the border closures, they just battled on.
