Picture Gary Ramage. “Whatever gets announced after it, it’s already been worked through it’s already gone through the Expenditure Review Committee of cabinet.The government’s proposal – led by Treasurer Jim Chalmers - is reminiscent of Bob Hawke and Paul Keating's National Economic summit held only one month after the election in 1983 to adopt a consensus national strategy.
