Sydney has recorded its coldest day in five years with cloudy and wet conditions keeping temperatures below 14 degrees.
“There’s always a big discussion about the actual and feels like temperature because that takes into account the wind and humidity,” Mr Abellan said. While the actual temperature topped 17 degrees on May 28, for most of the day it felt like it was in single digits because of the dry and windy conditions.
He said a significant cold spell is expected to cross NSW next week and temperatures in Sydney could drop to 14 degrees by Thursday.
