The tragic accident happened in a virtually empty lot that was being prepared for a new housing estate on Pittsburgh Road and Cloverton Boulevard. Acting Senior Sergeant Parvin expressed concern about the danger posed by unauthorized fireworks during what is considered Victoria's most severe bushfire risk season in years.
“We’re aware that, unfortunately, people can source fireworks online, through social media and word of mouth,” Acting Senior Sergeant Parvin said.
