Tempers have boiled over in Melbourne's south-east as police clashed with about 50 youths as the city sweltered through a hot night.
According to a police spokesperson, youths had been moved on from the Chelsea beach by police who had been conducting a weapons-search operation."Police had spoken to the youths earlier and they agreed to get on a bus with the intention of leaving the area," the spokesperson said.
