A woman has given birth to her daughter in the front seat of a Tesla driving on autopilot.
Yiran Sherry gave birth to her daughter Maeve during peak hour traffic on the way to the hospital, with her husband Keating putting the car on autopilot so he could support his wife and keep an eye on their son in the back seat.
Just as the Pennsylvania couple pulled up to Paoli Hospital, Mrs Sherry whispered, “Oh, my God, Keating. She’s out.”,“Once the paediatrician said, ‘She’s healthy. Congratulations,’ that was quite the sigh of relief,” Mr Keating toldIt all happened on September 9, when Mrs Sherry began getting contractions in the middle of the night, then her water broke while getting her son, Rafa, ready for preschool.
“I wouldn’t be too surprised if, in the year 2037, Maeve is getting her permit with that Tesla,” Mr Keating said. Mrs Sherry shared pictures of her daughter to Facebook last month, captioning the picture with the words: “She couldn’t wait to arrive … born in the front seat of our en route to the hospital!”.
