Liberal Senator James McGrath says the upcoming Queensland state electing is “reminding voters the Labor party has left them behind”.
“When you look at the seats across Queensland and you look at those communities, whether the FIFO’s or the DIDO’s and who’s standing up for them, well it’s the Liberal/National party, it’s not the Labor
party,” Mr McGrath said. “So it’s reminding them that this Labor party is moved on.” Mr McGrath said the modern Labor party was a party of the Left. “It’s no longer the party of the blue-collar worker,” he said.

Victoria is ‘ahead of time’ as massive restriction easing set for October 19 | Sky News AustraliaVictoria will take the “important step” and remove all restrictions on people leaving home on October 19 well ahead of the previously designated November timeframe.\n\n'The fact that this is working and we have done better as a community than what we thought we were going to be able to do by this point of time means that I can announce that we will no longer be held, for the purposes of the third step and the last step, to the dates that we had indicated previously essentially end October and end November” Premier Daniel Andrews said.\n\n“On the modelling and data and analysis of all of that, we believe that we will be able to take, all things being equal, the next step which is when all the restrictions leaving your home when there is much more freedom of movement,” he said.\n\n“We believe we will be able to take that important step on 19 October”.\n\nMr Andrews said the government’s experts have advised that the 19th of October – which is three weeks away – is enough time of the virus’ life-cycle to be certain that the numbers are a true reflection of the recent easing of restrictions.\n\n“That is fully a week earlier than what he had thought. We will no longer be talking in terms of dates, we will be talking in terms of case numbers,” the premier said.\n\n“We are at least a week ahead of schedule but we must wait and see how things unfold over the next three weeks and then make those decisions and speak about likely timeframes in November.\n\n“We are well on track, in fact, we are ahead of time when it comes to achieving that outcome. That is a credit to every single Victorian who is staying the course, working hard, making sacrifices.”\n\n“There are no shortcuts, there is no easy way to defeat this virus.\n\n“We have to do this right and if we can stay the course, if we can just find it in ourselves to get this job done over the next three weeks then we will be able to take even bigger steps on the 19 October.”\n
