The two firefighters killed in a motor vehicle accident on Thursday night on the Green Wattle fireground on the edge of Sydney were both experienced firefighters and fathers of young children born within days of each other.
Andrew O'Dwyer and Geoffrey Keaton, both pictured with their young children, died on Thursday night fighting fires at Buxton. Both men had 19-month-old children, Harvey Keaton and Charlotte O'Dwyer, who were born within days of each other, Mr Fitzsimmons said.He paid tribute to the two men as well as the courage of their colleagues who continued to fight the fire.
