Parents and students at primary schools across Sydney gathered outside school gates to demand stronger climate action from state and federal governments

Mother-of-four Rachel Sassine, carrying 13-week-old Roman in her arms, said she had been "terrified" over the past weeks. She said she had been forced to buy an air purifier, an expense that has been difficult on her single-parent budget. Bondi Beach Public School, Bellingen Public School, Balgowlah Heights Public School and Marrickville West Public School also held protests outside their school gates on Thursday morning.
