The WA Premier Mark McGowan on Wednesday took repeated swipes at the NSW government over its handling of the coronavirus pandemic and said his state was doing the 'heavy lifting' to support Australia's economy.

The Western Australia leader said NSW “got themselves into this position” after it announced a deficit of almost $20 billion due to the decision to not lock down earlier after a major outbreak in late June.
