The out of control fires are burning at Cope in the state’s mid-west and Moparrabah north-west of Kempsey amid a total fire ban across NSW.
Emergency warnings have been issued for two bushfires in the west and north of NSW, with firefighters bracing for wind changes that could keep them burning into the evening.
The fire is burning in a southerly direction towards McCoys Creek Road and Toorumbee Road. Residents are advised it is too late to leave and they should seek shelter.NSW RFS spokeswoman Angela Burford said the winds around Moparrabah were proving difficult for firefighters. The first is a grass fire that is being controlled on 626 Horseshoe Creek Road in the Upper Horseshoe Creek. Residents near the Horseshoe Creek Road and Sargents Road are advised to prepare now.
Firefighters are expecting conditions on Tuesday to ease, but Burford warned things were likely to heat up later into the week.
