Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has urged the states to “keep calm” and not overreact to the Omicron variant, saying Australia’s economic recovery depends on it.

“The economy is bouncing back very strongly,” he said.

AMP Economist Shane Oliver agrees with this, saying because of “stronger corporate revenue,” Australia will see a lower budget deficit for this financial year.
