Four people have died in separate crashes on the state's roads since Friday afternoon.

A 14-year-old boy and 25-year-old man are dead and three others are in hospital with serious injuries after the car they were travelling in hit a tree in central-western NSW.

The driver and four passengers – including three teenagers – were trapped in the vehicle and had to be released by emergency services, NSW Police said in a statement. The three others – a 13-year-old boy, 17-year-old girl and the 37-year-old female driver – were taken by helicopter to hospital with serious injuries, police said.The boy was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead with multiple leg injuries, and the girl was taken to John Hunter Hospital also suffering leg fractures. The driver was taken to Westmead Hospital with arm fractures.
