Legendary football manager Carlo Ancelotti declared he'll 'never' resign after his side won 4-0. He was sacked immediately 💀😑
Immediately following the 4-0 win, Ancelotti promised he wouldn’t be walking away from the struggling side, and revealed he was due to meet Napoli owner De Laurentiis the following day.
“We agreed to have a meeting,” he said. “I hope to stay but that is a decision the president will make. This team has quality which they have shown in the Champions League but not in the league. “They haven’t said anything to me, I was just preparing the match. Will I resign? I’ve never done that in my life.”
His words had hardly dried on the page when the club announced he was out the door. Former AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso is expected to take over from his fellow Italian. Meanwhile, Ancelotti – one of just three coaches to have claimed Champions League glory three times – is being hunted by a number of Premier League clubs over a return to England.
