Macquarie Bank has reportedly fired a number of staff members on the spot after becoming the latest large bank to embark on lay-offs in the name of cost cutting.
According to reports, the business has axed jobs from its banking and financial services arm, which includes personal banking and wealth management.the business has laid off staff from BFS, sales, business development and contact centres for the Macquarie Wrap investment platform over the past two weeks.
Described as “unexpected serial lay-offs”, the source said employees have reportedly been sacked on the spot and asked to leave immediately, with access to company software and equipment instantly revoked.Macquarie declined to comment on the reports.A security expert has revealed the sneaky way Aussies are being swindled millions of dollars while trying to get tickets to their favourite music acts.
