A Queensland community is in mourning after three people, including a nurse on her way home from work, were killed in a horror crash which also left a member of the 'police family' fighting for her life in hospital.
Police allege a 13-year-old boy behind the wheel of a stolen Mercedes-Benz collided with the back of a Holden on Saltwater Creek Road, near Sydney Street, in Maryborough at about 10:45pm on Sunday.Two passengers inside the Holden, a teenage girl, 17, from Oakhurst and a Maryborough woman, 29, died at the scene.
The third passenger inside the Holden, a Tinana woman, 23, was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital where she remains in a critical condition. "I know that a number of people that attended the scene have reported to us just how severe the feelings were as a direct result of those persons who were involved who are known to community members and also known to first responders."
